Music-Filled Summer Holiday

This past summer I spent most of my time around music. I released an EP on SoundCloud and a single "Rumors" on all platforms. I performed at and watched both big and small concerts.

My summer started off with me releasing my EP "Rumors" on SoundCloud and the single off that EP on all music platforms in the beginning of June, and finally feeling slightly accomplished with my music. July then came and so did many stressful concerts and rehearsals...

My band and I performed at this celebration on Hommelvik on the 4th of July, I did an EP-concert a few days later, and then traveled to Tønsberg with my friend Synne to volunteer at a music festival, all whilst having the flu.

At this music festival, Slottsfjell, we made great friends and learned a lot of important lessons (for festivals). One, wear comfy shoes which you don't mind getting dirty, two, always bring a spare t-shirt and socks, and three, make sure to either get a lot of sleep at night or power up with litres of caffeine.

On the days we were not working, we managed to enjoy some amazing performances by our favourite artists, even in the rain and burning sun.

Some of the artists we loved watching perform:
Sigrid, probably the most energetic performance I've ever watched. We also met her casually walking around the festival and she was such a sweetheart!

Mac Miller, good music and a really good vibe, despite it starting to rain and hail half way through the set. *pro tip: Don't watch from the first row if you don't want to be really squished up against the barrier.

Wonder The Boy, he's a friend of mine which was performing at the festival and that was really cool! He's great live, 10/10 would recommend.

TOVE LO, my favourite. Synne and I were waiting in front of the stage for a good 1.5 hours before the performance started to make sure we got first row, but her performance was worth the wait! It was the second time we had seen her perform live but felt just as thrilling as the first time!

Kaja Gunnufsen, Synne was dying to watch her perform and she was great! If you want to watch a unique, calming performance, watch Kaja live.

PARAMORE, THE BAND I HAVE BEEN WAITING TO WATCH LIVE FOR 4 YEARS! All my expectations were surpassed and I loved it! If you ever get the chance to watch them live, take it!

Veronica Maggio, a popular singer in Norway and Sweden which Synne was also looking forward to watching. Her her and her band performed extremely well and it was a great show! She is also just a really nice person (we were cleaning back stage and ended up having a little chat).

Aurora, a highlight of the entire festival. This was the last performance of Slottsfjell and to say the least there was a lot of chaos around it. Despite all the confusion, we ended up being able to watch most of the concert together with our friends from Tønsberg and had a great end to the festival week!

After the music festival we returned to Trondheim. Days after I had to start practising for this small music festival my band and I were going to perform at called Sommerfest på Sveian, organised by the SKA band SkaFrika.
